In conclusion, philosophy of religion strives to explain questions that have a long history. The ancient Greeks such as Epicurus and Plato first addressed such questions. Church priests including Augustine and Tertullian later asked them. Modern Philosophers such as James, Russell, Descartes, Hume and Nietzsche are trying to explain the understanding of the nature through evidence and reason. Both Christian theism and enlighten deism believe in the existence of God. The major difference between them is that, theism believes God made the laws of the nature and He is actively involved in the world’s daily affairs as revealed in the miracles, scriptures and revelations. Deism on the other hand, believes that God made the laws of the nature and is not involved in the world’s affairs; people abide by the laws of nature through reasoning and experience.
